About Safer Internet Day 2023
Safer Internet Day is a global day of action to build a safer digital world for children and young people.
This is the 20th edition of the campaign and will be held on Tuesday, 7 February with the theme 'Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online’.
The aim of the day is to raise awareness of emerging online issues and current concerns, prompting conversations about how we can use the internet safely and respectfully.
It’s a day to encourage parents, carers, teachers, government, policymakers, and the wider online safety industry to take time to listen to children and young people and make positive change together not just for one day, but all year round.
The competition
In support of Safer Internet Day 2023, we are inviting children and young people to use their creativity to highlight the importance of having meaningful conversations about online safety.
We are looking for entries which nod to the campaign theme in the form of a song, poem, poster or video (and anything else in between!).
The winning entry for each age category (age 7-11 and age 12 -18) will be shared on Surrey Police's channels and win a £25 Cineworld voucher!
Where do I send my entry to?
Email [email protected] to receive a parental consent form and then return the email with your entry, completed form, contact details and the age category that your entry is for.
Make sure your entry is sent to us by 11.59pm on Tuesday, 7 February.
Who can enter the competition?
We have two categories:
Primary school ages 7-11 years old
Secondary school/college ages 11-18 years old
If you fall into these age groups and live or go to school in Surrey, you can enter!
