    * Addressing offences involving e-bike and motorbike users, as well as associated youth groups, including related thefts, burglaries, and anti-social behaviour in the Watersedge, Longmead, and surrounding areas.

Epsom SNT are continuing target the motorbikes including:
    • Utilising specialist teams both overtly and covertly.
    • Introducing new tactics to stop the bikes.
    • Multi-agency approach including housing to target alleged offenders.
    • Targeting suspects utilising other laws and ASB powers.
    • Targeting the wider network of criminality.
    • With EEBC making use of the new County Wide PSPO.

    Actioned 04 August 2026

  • Priority:

Shoplifting and offences against retailers within Epsom & Ewell.

    Issued 04 August 2026

    Action taken:

The Epsom Safer Neighbourhood Team has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards retail crime across the Borough, resulting in a significant reduction of local offenders within the Town Centre. This approach includes:

    * Engagement with retail premises in Epsom Town, working alongside Epsom Go and Epsom Shopwatch. The deployment of plain clothes officers into shops which have been targeted repeatedly, alongside security, to catch and convict repeat shoplifters. Intelligence sharing meetings with neighbouring forces.

    • Immediate investigation of known offenders by the Safer Neighbourhood Team, leading faster arrests and allowing response units to focus elsewhere.
    • Direct collaboration with stores and remote CCTV providers, which has enabled arrests even before stores have reported incidents.
    • Increased presence of both high-visibility and covert officers patrolling the area.
    • Joint funding with Epsom BID to provide private security within the Town Centre.
    • Partnership with support agencies to engage offenders who may be coerced into offending, aiming to prevent repeat crimes.
    • All stores have access to the ‘DISC’ system for improved information sharing, crime reporting, and management of known offenders. Anyone caught stealing from one store will be banned from the entire Town.
    • We will relentlessly pursue persistent offenders, thorough investigation of hidden or unreported crimes, and the use of custody time to charge and remand offenders rather than granting bail.
    • Use of the Anti-Social Behaviour Legislation to prevent offenders coming to the area.

    Actioned 04 August 2026

  • Priority:

Violence against Women and Girls. This is a broad crime type which encompasses a wide range of offences, including harassment, stalking, rape, sexual assault, honour-based abuse and coercive control.

    Issued 04 August 2026

    Action taken:

    * Domestic abuse related calls for service will be prioritised to ensure that any risk is mitigated.
    * Use of Domestic Violence Prevention Orders to increase survivor engagement and support, whilst targeting perpetrators.
    * Local teams supporting specialist officers and partner agencies with interventions.
    * Regular deployments under Operation Shield. This involves specialist, covert Behavioural Detection Officers and overt intervention teams. They target persons present who demonstrate predatory behaviours towards women and girls.

    Actioned 04 August 2026
