Car meets in Thorpe Industrial Estate.
Action taken:
We are aware of various car meets reported. When we receive intelligence around a potential car meet we have used dispersal orders to prevent them from remaining in the area. We have also made changes to the area and are now able to use CCTV and ANPR to deal with vehicles involved in car meets. We have issued numerous warnings and notices to those that have taken part in these events.
A meeting was held with Surrey Highways and local councillors to see if preventative measures could be put in place. Surrey County Council are going to be reviewing their options for the location.
