Shoplifting

Officers and PCSOs Brown and Caswell visited more than 19 local businesses in Staines and given target hardening and crime prevention advice. PCSOs Brown and Caswell carried out two “Street the Week” engagements and two “Meet the Beat” events at various locations in Staines. This provided an opportunity to offer crime prevention advice, increase reassurance, and build positive relationships with members of the local community. In addition, high-visibility foot patrols have been undertaken across the area, with officers and PCSOs Brown and Caswell engaging directly with the community, and businesses alike. These interactions have helped to identify ongoing concerns, gather intelligence around patterns of offending, and continue to inform a more targeted and effective policing approach to tackling retail crime in Staines.
