Your safer neighbourhood team
The Neighbourhood Sergeant provides frontline leadership to coordinate neighbourhood team activity, and work with the community, partners and other colleagues, to deliver safer neighbourhoods. This includes directing problem solving and engagement activity, and being responsive to community needs.
Police Constables work in the community to tackle local issues and crimes. They provide a visible, accessible and approachable uniformed presence in the community, and are responsive to local needs. They take a problem solving approach to issues, work with partners, focus on engagement and target their activity where it is needed most.

Rural Police Community Support Officers are dedicated to supporting and protecting Surrey's rural communities. Working closely with farmers, landowners, equestrian groups, local businesses, parish councils and residents playing a key role in addressing issues affecting the countryside, including rural crime, wildlife offence, anti-social behaviour, theft and community safety concerns.
The Neighbourhood Inspector has overall responsibility for the entire neighbourhood policing team of Sergeants, Police Constables, PCSOs and Police Staff. They are responsible for delivering on neighbourhood policing strategies, directing the deployment of the team and developing relationships with partners and key stakeholders, to enable the neighbourhood policing team to work effectively.

Increased theft from shops and concerns regarding threats / violence towards retail staff

The local policing team continue to perform regular proactive patrols and engagement with the local business community increasing confidence and partnership working and intelligence sharing.
Repeat offenders are being robustly targeted, using anti-social behaviour legislation where appropriate and a shoplifter has been charged and issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order.
Ongoing policing operations continue in the town, both overt and covert targeting ongoing retail crime.
