ALLEGATIONS

On 22nd February 2025 whilst off duty at a social event, it is alleged that former PC Sanders:

1. used inappropriate and offensive language and behaviour towards others present.
2. used homophobic, racist and misogynistic language towards others present.
3. exhibited inappropriate behaviour in the sight and hearing of others present.

The allegations set out above are in breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in

relation to:

1. Discreditable Conduct: Police officers behave in a manner which does not discredit the police service or undermine public confidence in it, whether on or off duty.
2. Authority Respect and Courtesy: Police officers act with self-control and tolerance, treating members of the public and colleagues with respect and courtesy.
3. Equality & Diversity: Police officers act with fairness and impartiality. They do not discriminate unlawfully or unfairly.

The allegations if proven are so serious that dismissal could be justified if proven, and separately and jointly amount to gross misconduct.

Any accredited members of the media or public attending the hearing must adhere to reporting restrictions imposed by the Chair namely that some parties involved in this case may be referred to by ciphers and will be throughout the proceedings and any public record of it and their identity should not be revealed in any way.
