On Friday 15th May 2026 an accelerated Misconduct Hearing was held in relation to an allegation relating to former police constable (FPC) Joshua Rainey.
The allegation that on the 9th November 2025 whilst off duty, FPC Rainey did not have valid insurance for the vehicle he was driving. That upon being stopped by police, he stated he had insurance. Having obtained valid insurance later on the 9th November 2025, FPC Rainey falsified the insurance documents to dishonestly claim the insurance had been valid from 9th September 2025 in an attempt to hide the fact that the vehicle was not insured at the time of the stop on 9th November 2025.
The standards breached being that of Honesty and Integrity and Discreditable Conduct.
The allegations were found, FPC Rainey would have been dismissed without notice had they still been a serving officer and will be placed on the College of Policing Barred list.
