We are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was attacked with a bladed item in West Molesey yesterday evening (Tuesday, 2 January).
At 7.50pm officers were made aware by the South East Coast Ambulance Service that a boy had been slashed across his leg on Walton Road outside Sainsbury’s Local. The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatening, injuries to his leg.
The suspect of the attack then fled the scene. Following this, a second suspect punched the victim and also fled.
Both suspects are described as teenage boys roughly aged 13-15. The first suspect is described as having a balaclava covering his face. The second suspect is described as a White boy.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody.
Enquiries are underway and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has any other information, to come forward. If you were driving along Walton Road between 7.30pm and 7.50pm and have dashcam footage, please contact us.
Borough Commander Inspector Bert Dean said: “This is understandably a shocking incident. Officers will be in the area conducting patrols and engaging with the community. I’d encourage you to speak with them if you have concerns. A teenage boy was arrested last night in connection with this attack and I’d urge anyone who has information that can help our investigation to please get in touch.”
