Ceiron Howlett, 37, (DOB 19/06/1987) faces months behind bars after his criminal ways were stalled.
Howlett, of no fixed abode, was handed a six-month sentence on Tuesday, 17 September after pleading guilty to various vehicle-related offences.
Last month, police identified a series of vehicle interference offences taking place overnight across Caterham and Kenley. The items stolen ranged from cash and bank cards to work uniform.
The case shifted gear when officers were able to identify Howlett as the person responsible for these selfish acts using CCTV, and he was tracked down and subsequently arrested on Sunday, 15 September.
After being interviewed, Howlett was charged with two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, four counts of theft from a person, four counts of vehicle interference, and fraud by false representation. He was remanded and will now serve six months in prison.
This great result highlights the importance of reporting crime to police.
