Jail time for drug dealers stopped by proactive officers in Stanwell

On Wednesday, 25 June, officers were on mobile patrol on Town Lane, Stanwell when PC Mcgill from the Uniform Proactive Team noticed a dark blue Peugeot being driven suspiciously.

When the vehicle came to a natural stop, officers approached the passenger side and saw a man looking like he was trying to hide something within the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Harvey Constable-Eliba, 21, (DOB: 15/08/2004), and the passenger, Louis Cummings, 20, (DOB: 16/08/2005), from The Crescent, Ashford were arrested for being concerned in the supply of cocaine following a search of the car.

Both men were found in possession of a phone, and a burner phone was found inside the car displaying a message which appeared to be related to drug dealing. A knife was found inside which Cummings said was there because he’d ‘just come back from fishing’, even though there was no other fishing equipment in the car. Both men were further arrested and their homes were searched.

During a search of Cummings’ home, a number of items were seized, including 130 large NOS cannisters, weighing scales with traces of white powder on, multiple phones and sim cards, and another knife. Cummings was further arrested for possession with intent to supply Nitrous Oxide and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

Investigating Officer, PC Duncan Mackenzie from the Proactive Investigation Team said: “Drug dealing has no place in our community and can cause significant damage to the lives of many. We are pleased with this result and that Constable and Cummings will now spend time in prison so they can’t cause disruption in the local area."

Both men appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday, 25 November.

Constable-Eliba was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment for being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis.

Louis Cummings was sentenced to 32 months imprisonment for being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. His previous suspended sentence for possession with intent to supply was enacted to be served consecutively, meaning he now has to serve 43 months.
