Surrey Police has officially welcomed our new Deputy Chief Constable Mark McEwan to our Force this week as he takes up the appointment from outgoing DCC Nev Kemp.
Mark brings extensive experience in policing including more than 26 years serving for Police Service of Northern Ireland and Metropolitan Police. Throughout his career, Mark has navigated highly politicised and challenging environments, working in a breadth of roles including community policing, counter terrorism, investigations, human rights, equality and diversity, crime prevention and change management.
On joining the Force, Deputy Chief Constable Mark McEwan said: “I am excited to be joining Surrey Police. The Force has a clear vision and direction set out in Our Plan and I look forward to working with colleagues to deliver it for the people of Surrey.”
Chief Constable Tim De Meyer said: “I am sure that colleagues across our Force will wish to join me in warmly welcoming DCC Mark McEwan to Surrey Police. Mark’s extensive experience of crime-fighting, community policing, operations and change management – gained in some of the most testing jobs in UK Policing – will serve us and the people of Surrey very well in the challenge ahead.”
