Violence against women and girls (VAWG) - Reducing VAWG related incidents is a National Priority. Surrey Police are committed to ensuring Guildford is a safer place for women and girls, especially within the University community.
Action taken:
Surrey Police is committed to reducing the likelihood of VAWG incidents occurring during busy times for nightlife, and our team has increased foot patrols in the town centre during these times. Officers have run dedicated Ops to identify and interrupt offending, and we have a dedicated Officer and PCSO to work closely with the University staff to ensure that students are kept safe. They also work closely with the students to ensure they have the correct information on how to report crimes and feel supported to raise any concerns they may have.
