Your safer neighbourhood team
The Neighbourhood Inspector has overall responsibility for the entire neighbourhood policing team of Sergeants, Police Constables, PCSOs and Police Staff. They are responsible for delivering on neighbourhood policing strategies, directing the deployment of the team and developing relationships with partners and key stakeholders, to enable the neighbourhood policing team to work effectively.
The Neighbourhood Sergeant provides frontline leadership to coordinate neighbourhood team activity, and work with the community, partners and other colleagues, to deliver safer neighbourhoods. This includes directing problem solving and engagement activity, and being responsive to community needs.

Licensing Officers work closely with local bars, restaurants, and pubs to ensure they are compliant with laws and regulations by evaluating, issuing and monitoring licenses, safeguarding public safety and industry standards. They provide support and direction on statutory and policy requirements for the Borough and a number of stakeholders, including courts, Local Authorities, Neighbouring Boroughs, and are responsible for consultations with Licensing Authorities and the Borough Inspector to determine the Divisional strategy towards licensing applications, enforcement and prosecution.

Reports of retail crime have been increasing nationally, and Surrey Police have made tackling shoplifting a priority, as a response to the significant increase in the number of offenders being identified, arrested and charged for retail crime related offenses
Action taken:
Our team has made pursuing repeat offenders a priority, through increasing patrol activity in hotspot areas. During patrols, officers have been liaising with shop staff to ensure that they feel supported, and are encouraged to report offenses that take place. We are working closely with neighbouring forces to identify suspects and take action.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) - We have been receiving continuing reports of ASB and anti-social driving within the Park Barn and Westborough areas
Action taken:
We have been increasing our patrol activity in hotspot locations where we are seeing an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour. Our team have been holding regular engagement events in order to meet with the local communities, providing them with more information and opportunities to speak to our PSCOs to discuss local concerns.
