Your safer neighbourhood team
Neighbourhood policing within Surrey Police is delivered by Safer Neighbourhood Teams in each of the 11 districts and boroughs of the County. Each neighbourhood within the districts and boroughs is served by a dedicated team of officers and staff.
Neighbourhood Teams provide community engagement, targeted foot patrols and collaborative problem solving to tackle the issues that cause the greatest harm in our communities. Teams are made of sergeants, police officers and PCSOs, led by the Borough Commander, with further support provided by other team members - with specialisms in youth engagement, licensing and crime prevention.

Retail Crime - Shoplifting is a National priority and has an impact on businesses in the town.
Action taken:
Surrey Police has made tackling shoplifting a priority, as a response to the increase in offenders being charged, arrested and prosecuted for retail crimes. Our team has been completing regular engagement events at hotspot locations to provide a more visible presence to reduce opportunity for crimes to take place, and provide support for retail staff. Officers have been working closely with businesses that have been targeted, to improve reporting and evidence collection, as well as pursuing offenders

Priority:
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) and Antisocial Driving (ASD) - increasing reports of ASB in rural location including off road use of Motorbikes and Quads and speeding on country lanes.
Action taken:
Our Rural Crime officers have been conducting regular patrols and engaging with the rural community. Signage to encourage reports of off road driving has been put up in hotspot locations, engagement events have been set up to help encourage reporting and offer support to those concerned by the ASB and ASD.
