  • Priority:

    Anti–social behaviour

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

PCSOs have been conducting regular high-visibility patrols and dedicated “Street of the Week” initiatives across hotspot locations such as Church RD which has been identified for anti-social behaviour within residential areas. These focused patrols have provided valuable insight into the concerns and issues residents are currently experiencing.
Through increased engagement, PCSOs have been able to build stronger relationships with those most affected, providing reassurance and gathering first-hand information to better understand the impact on the community. The PCSO team has identified ongoing issues relating to drug activity in Maxwell Road, St Michael’s Road, and the surrounding areas of Fordbridge Park. In response to this, engagement efforts have included increased house-to-house visits and regular patrols.
Numerous reports have been received regarding anti-social driving on Convent Road. In response, we have conducted multiple days of stop site operations focused on speed enforcement, with the aim of improving safety for both residents and commuters.

    Actioned 25 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Shoplifting and acquisitive crime

    Issued 24 June 2026

    Action taken:

Multiple targeted operations, both in uniform and plain clothes, have been conducted in the Ashford area focusing specifically on tackling shoplifting. These proactive deployments are designed to identify and apprehend offenders, disrupt criminal activity, and act as a visible deterrent to prevent further offences.
PCSOs Melson and Ashford have also carried out a “Meet the Beat” engagement on Church Road, Ashford. This provided an opportunity to offer crime prevention advice, increase reassurance, and build positive relationships with members of the local community.
In addition, high-visibility foot patrols have been undertaken across the area, with officers engaging directly with local businesses. These interactions have helped to identify ongoing concerns, gather intelligence around patterns of offending, and inform a more targeted and effective policing approach to tackling retail crime in Ashford.

  • Priority:

Violence against women and girls VAWG
From our public engagements with the community, it’s been identified that it is early hours of the morning and the hours of evening that are the most concerning, whereby inappropriate or unpleasant behaviour occurs.
Many persons identified areas around the major transport links, such as Ashford Train Station and Sunbury Underpass.

    Issued 25 June 2026

    Action taken:

We have responded to these concerns by increasing both high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols in identified hotspot areas, particularly during times highlighted as most problematic. We are also working closely with partner agencies, including Spelthorne Borough Council, to develop long-term solutions aimed at improving safety in these locations. Key areas identified by the team include Fordbridge Park, Clarendon Road, and surrounding roads near the train station.

We organise regular public engagement events and meetings to raise the public’s awareness of Violence Against Women and Girls and to give everyone an opportunity to talk to us about anything of concern.

    Actioned 25 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Burglary

    Issued 25 June 2026

    Action taken:

PCSOs have conducted targeted street the week and extensive house-to-house engagement throughout the Safer Ashford initiative. This has provided a valuable opportunity to speak directly with residents about crime prevention and practical steps they can take to better protect their homes.
During these engagements, PCSOs distributed reassurance and prevention leaflets, offered tailored advice, and encouraged residents to report concerns. This proactive approach has not only helped raise awareness around home security but has also strengthened community relationships, giving officers a clearer understanding of the issues and priorities affecting local residents.

    Actioned 25 June 2026
