Anti-social behaviour

Foot patrols have been conducted regarding reports of ongoing anti-social behaviour around the long lane recreation ground and the unused land behind it, work is ongoing with partner agencies and the owner of the land to secure it and prevent anti-social use of the area. Patrols of Spout Lane and information gathering is ongoing in this area due to reports of ASB and findings of paraphernalia associated with it.

Shoplifting and acquisitive crime

Shoplifting - Officers have completed foot patrols in the local area and engaged with local retailers, providing advice for crime prevention and visibility in the local area. Recently a prolific thief and shoplifter was arrested for multiple offences around Spelthorne concerning thefts of meat.
Acquisitive Crime - We have been taking proactive action against surron and e-bikes to deter the users from committing high harm offences such as robbery and burglary. We have also been targeting known offenders living in the area which has resulted in multiple arrests, charges and remands, as well as high visibility patrols to deter offences and show support to the community.

Concerns from the community around the increase in knife crimes

SNT have been attending shops within Spelthorne and getting the businesses to agree to selling knives to the appropriate procedures of trading standards. SNT have done and are still working on action planned days or are selling bladed articles to youths.
We are planning to do proactive operations to help increase and gather intel around concerns.
PCSO’s have been conducting patrols along the areas of Clare Road where they speak to local businesses and residents.

PCSO’ are still conducting weekly visits with management and providing them with reassurance. SNT are still providing high visibility patrols on foot and mobile and engaging with residents. All weekly visits and information gathered is reviewed by the Borough Commander.

Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG)

Re-introduction of StreetSafe, which is a platform to report anything that makes women unsafe. Businesses approached to distribute the QR code/link to the platform. Please, if possible, place the poster on the Surrey Police website/social media platforms.
High visibility and plain clothes patrols increased. Focus on Clare Road and Long Lane Rec Grounds.
